Happy Christmas to one and all!!! We hope you've had some time to relax during the Festive Season..... We are now back up and running properly with our website and e-mail, so apologies for the lack of info coming out of the Crown in recent months. Now then, Christmas is getting on, so it's time to start thinking about New Year's Eve....................got any plans? This year, we'll be having another disco party, which will centre around a BBQ laid on by our Brazilian Head Chef Diego. It may sound odd to do a BBQ in the middle of Winter, but thus far, the weather's been kind, and after a trial run a couple of weeks ago (which went down a storm), we thought it would be a good way to utilise the garden space, and leave some room for dancing! The music for the night will be very 70's and 80's, so dust off those flares & drainpipes, and come and throw some shapes on the dancefloor. Tickets for the evening are £15 (£7.50 for children under 12), which includes all your food, payable in advance. There will be no tickets sold on the day! So, how to pay: You can either come down in person and pay, or you can call my mobile no, leave a message, and I can call you back, and take card details.....the number is 07930 400 709. We'll then add your name to the door list. We'll start at 8pm and aim to finish off at around 1am.....2012!! Thanks to all of you who have joined us this year, and continued your valued support. We hope to see you on the 31st...but if not, maybe the New Year....? |

Hi All, In case you've been living on another planet, you may have noticed a certain Wedding this Friday. If you fancy a late breakfast, or early lunch, we will be showing the days proceedings on our drop down screen in the restaurant. We will be opening the doors from 10am, and will be preparing such delights as: Eggs Benedict/Florentine, Full English Breakfast, Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs, and Smoked Haddock Kedgeree. Add a glass of Champagne or a Bloody Mary to the mix, and get your Bank Holiday Weekend off to a great start! Normal lunch service and our regular Friday offering of Fish & Chips for £6.95 from noon. Other News: After what seems like years of negotiating and planning, we have finally received Landlords consent to develop the back area into a decked garden. Work should commence mid May time giving us around 50 covers, and should all be ready by the end of May........Fingers crossed. Look out for regular updates on this, and join us for a Paella Evening at weekends, or a Seafood Extravaganza during the Summer lunchtimes. Hopefully we'll have a sustained period of good weather as we did over the Easter weekend. As many of you know, our dear Kirsty has been growing somewhat bigger of late, and has now gone off to have her baby. I'll keep you posted on that one, as I'm sure you'll want to wish her well. Just for the record, Kirsty is NOT my wife, and is not expecting my 4th child. This will be her first. If she can be encouraged, she may just put in an appearance on Friday. Hope to see you soon!! Warm regards, Guy and the team. |

During the Autumn & Winter Months, it'll be time for us to dust off the projector, lower the screen, dim the lights and settle down.
As the days get shorter, I'm going to play projectionist, and will be organising Childrens films on Sunday Afternoons. From 4pm on selected days, we will feed & water your children, while they get to watch a classic movie. Meanwhile, Mum & Dad can tuck into Bar Snacks, and have a drink with friends until the film finishes at around 6pm. (Children must be accompanied by an adult)
Just in time to get the little ones home for Bathtime!!
For more information, and to be kept up to date with Performance Times & Other Offers, don't forget to Register!!
Over the Festive period, there will be almost daily showings of great Christmas Movies, while the children are on holiday.
Hope to see you soon!!
Guy.

We will be launching a new take-away fish and chips service, using quality traditional haddock (from Billingsgate market) and "thrise" cooked chips, with a side of homemade Tartare sauce!
Pickup and service will be at the crown reception; if you call beforehand (01494 875 156) to let us know what time you would like to pickup, you can expect a very prompt service, otherwise you can get a drink at the bar whilst you wait for your fresh fish and chips to be prepared.
More details coming soon....
